内容摘要:

Attosecond pulse generation and control have revolutionized ultrafast science, with broad applications in ultrafast spectroscopy and microscopy over the past two decades. The importance of attosecond science was recognized with the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics awarded for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter. A critical factor for conducting attosecond pump-probe experiments is the creation of single isolated attosecond pulses (IAPs) – with high repetition rates and in a simple setup. Here, I will show a simple route for the experimental generation of IAPs from a solid material at an unprecedented megahertz repetition rate, using a synthesized two- color field. Secondly, I will introduce a novel spectral method to reconstruct ultrafast electron quantum wavefunction, which has long been a challenge and necessary in the field of ultrafast electron microscopy.

Finally, I will share our recent efforts to bridge two pivotal fields—strong-field physics and quantum optics. Specifically, we utilize a unique quantum light source, known as bright squeezed vacuum, with peak intensities up to 10^13 W/cm^2, to drive high harmonic generation (HHG) in solids. This approach enables the generation of high harmonics with an extended cutoff energy while avoiding damage to the solid material, paving the way for the creation of non-classical light in the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) regime.
